Residential Youth Care Worker (Direct Care Staff)
Location: Hempstead, TX 77445
Schedule: Full-time or Part-time | 12-hour shifts (6am–6pm or 6pm–6am)Overview:
Safe Haven Youth Ranch is seeking compassionate and dependable Residential Youth Care Workers to join our trauma-informed team. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for youth ages 10–17. Ideal candidates are calm under pressure, patient, and committed to supporting the emotional and behavioral healing of children in care.About Us:
Safe Haven Youth Ranch is a 32-bed residential treatment center that combines evidence-based trauma recovery with 4-H youth development and individualized behavior training. We serve youth who have experienced complex trauma, neglect, and instability, providing a path toward healing and resilience.Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision and guidance to youth.
Implement individualized treatment plans and daily routines.
Engage youth in recreational, social, and life skills activities.
Maintain accurate documentation of youth behavior, incidents, and daily progress.
Ensure youth attend scheduled school and vocational programs.
Model respectful, supportive, and safe interactions at all times.
Qualifications:
Minimum age: 21 years old
High school diploma or GED required
At least 1 year of experience in residential care or similar setting preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive care
Compensation & Benefits:
$15.00/hour

Residential Administrative Assistant
Location: Hempstead, TX 77445
Schedule: Part-time (approximately 20 hours/week)Overview:
We are looking for an organized and motivated Residential Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day operations at Safe Haven Youth Ranch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, values youth advocacy, and is detail-oriented in managing documentation and logistics.Key Responsibilities:
Greet visitors, answer calls, and support front-desk operations
Maintain accurate records, files, and databases
Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes
Support onboarding and orientation for new staff members
Help manage inventory, ordering supplies, and tracking youth program needs
Coordinate youth-related logistics such as wardrobe, cash accounts, and transportation
Participate in facility inspections and ensure vehicle readiness
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred (or relevant administrative experience)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Valid driver’s license preferred

Residential Program Assistant (Graduate-Level Role)

Safe Haven Youth Ranch is seeking a highly motivated and service-minded professional to assist our Residential Program Manager. This position is ideal for graduate-level candidates seeking practical experience in program operations, staff coordination, and trauma-informed residential care.Key Responsibilities:
Support the daily operations of the residential program
Assist with supervising direct care staff and shift supervisors
Participate in training, team meetings, and staff development initiatives
Monitor compliance with licensing, safety, and documentation standards
Contribute to program planning and behavioral intervention strategies
Support youth intake, orientation, and treatment planning
Provide administrative support such as data tracking and report writing
Participate in crisis planning and de-escalation efforts as needed
Qualifications:
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's or Doctoral program in social work, psychology, human services, or related field
Minimum age: 21 years old
Strong leadership and communication skills
Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism
Valid driver’s license preferred
