4H Residential Treatment Center for Positive Youth Development & Trauma Recovery
About the Ranch
Safe Haven Youth Ranch operates under the umbrella of Safe Haven Adolescent Home, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and funded by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Safe Haven Youth Ranch was established in 2016 with the aim of offering residential services to youth aged 10-17 who have endured severe traumatic childhood experiences, including abuse, neglect, and exploitation. On December 27th, 2019, the program welcomed its first youth.
Life on The Ranch
Nestled in the rolling hills of Hempstead, Texas, just 60 miles northwest of Houston, Safe Haven Youth Ranch spans 30 acres of serene countryside, providing a peaceful haven for healing and growth. Our campus currently features two home-like residences, each accommodating 16 youth, full basketball courts, and expansive sports fields for outdoor activities and team sports. Looking ahead, we are expanding to include an Aquaponic Greenhouse, a Career Trade Center for skills development and vocational training, a pavilion for community events, and two additional residences to serve even more youth. With these planned enhancements, Safe Haven Youth Ranch continues to grow as a comprehensive, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
About the Youth We Serve
At Safe Haven Youth Ranch, we support youth aged 10–17 who have experienced severe trauma, including abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Many of our youth face challenges such as oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder (CD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), often with overlapping symptoms that complicate diagnosis. We also address common adolescent mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and attention difficulties. Through a comprehensive, evidence-based, and trauma-informed approach, we create a supportive, nurturing environment that empowers each young person to heal, grow, and reclaim their future.
